As Vice President, Culture and Communications for the Responsive Group Inc., Nicola brings diverse skills and extensive knowledge of our group of companies that is invaluable in meeting our business goals and priorities. Responsible for guiding our organization’s culture through communications, brand awareness, and overseeing team member engagement and wellness, Nicola is inspired by her love of people and a desire to see them succeed. Building relationships, being kind and empathic, and telling our stories with heart is integral to who she is and the success of the role.

Nicola’s role includes managing communications with professional and trade organizations, providing support to our business units by sharing best practices and resources, and supporting our homes and communities with their communications needs. She works with our teams on shared initiatives, and a variety of pilots and projects. Nicola is known for her ability to organize and make things happen as planned, an excellent communicator and listener – and for her sense of humour that puts everyone at ease. She says with a smile, “I am very proud to be part of this organization”.

Additionally, Nicola is a member of the Ontario Long Term Care Association’s (OLTCA) Advocacy Committee and of the Canadian Association of Long Term Care”s (CALTC) Engagement, Communications, and Public Affairs Committee. 

Nicola’s professional development is diverse and ongoing. She holds an Excellence in Executive Leadership Certificate from Rotman School of Management, and is a certified trainer in Crucial Conversations, a communication tool that provides the skills to prepare for high-stakes conversations. 

Born in England, Nicola immigrated to Canada as a child with her parents. Prior to joining our team, she used her organizational, communications and leadership skills to ensure that her three children got a good start in life. Nicola is committed to Making Every Moment Matter™ through her love of learning, participating in new experiences, travelling, and enjoying her wonderful family and friends.
